This week, spring has well and truly sprung! The air is noticeably warmer and the days are slowly getting longer and lighter. So, in true warmer weather fashion I thought it was only fitting to incorporate two of my favourite things; Camilla and Marc and getting my pins out!
The C & M Frederick Sweater and Majesty Skirt are two equally beautiful, structured and spring appropriate pieces from their current collection. The Frederick Sweater is definitely a modern addition to any wardrobe with its boxy fit, chunky contrasting back zipper and dropped shoulder seams that provide a relaxed, slightly oversized look. Here I am wearing the Size 6, and it still has an extremely relaxed and roomy shape, which makes it perfect for pairing over structured bottoms such as the Majesty Skirt. This gorgeous skirt in animal print is designed in a fitted, mini silhouette and features a high waist, and frill hem; making it ideal for pair underneath a relaxed top.
The key to mixing bold colours, prints and patterns is to keep the look structured and tidy. If you are wearing an extremely bold and heavily printed outfit, then keep the accessories to a minimum as this will ensure that the outfit is not too overdone and messy.
I decided to pair this C & M ensemble with a pair of aztec style black and white heels that have a similar print to the skirt. This ties the look together well and provides a streamlined effect.
Be prepared ladies and gentlemen for lots of colour, print and bold patterns this spring/summer. Whether you try mixing blocks of colour, or different prints and patterns; make sure that your look is tied together well and that each piece flows onto the next.
