At the moment it's cold, its wet and its gloomy. But whose to say that doesn't mean one can't put on a touch of red, white and black and transport themselves into a world full of colour?

This week, after returning home from a beautiful summer holiday overseas, I decided it was only fitting to put together a colourful outfit in the hope of transporting myself back to the Northern Hemisphere. However, due to the freezing cold weather, I had to adapt my outfit to suit the below ten degree temperatures we have been experiencing!

Red in my opinion, is the colour of the season. It can be worn in a variety of shades, and when paired with the right accessories, can look absolutely fabulous on anyone. In an attempt to let out my inner parisian, I pieced an outfit together that made me feel girly, glamorous and chic. Believe me when I say that a simple, long sleeved tee can take you on a beautiful journey.

This particular long sleeved tee is one of my personal favourites, simply because it is easy to style, and practically goes with everything. It is also ideal for pairing with this gorgeous, black maxi skirt that is not only perfect for protecting your pins from the freezing cold, but also sits beautifully on the waist and enhances any body shape. This maxi skirt finishes just above the ankle, which also makes it ideal for styling with a pair of mules or kitten heels, that will enhance a 50’s inspired look.

The addition of minimal accessories, as well as a practical black tote, are all that this outfit needs so it doesn’t appear too OTT. Adding a touch of red lipstick, ties the look together perfectly.

Styling an effortless, chic look isn't difficult during winter. All you have to do is piece an outfit together that covers a little more skin, but still shows off the right areas, and provides you with a great shape. The last thing you want is looking like a sack because you're wearing too many layers!
