Hey Jem, I want to wear loafers and brogues, but I need to know how to style them so they don't look like old man shoes/school shoes- I still want to look feminine! xxx
Excellent question! I myself have been eyeing off a few pairs of brogues in the hope of one day purchasing them! I think it is important whilst wearing loafers or brogues, to add a feminine touch to the rest of your outfit. If you want to wear brogues and not look like man, then definitely wear them with a structured, fitted outfit.
Knowing how to style brogues and loafers with an outfit can be quite difficult, especially if you're not used to wearing this type of footwear. There are a few great ways in which you CAN style them correctly.
1. With a dress. Wear it with confidence, just like your shoes. They already scream confidence and so should your look. I would personally opt for either a shift, straight dress, or for a more casual look, a dress that has a full skirt.
2. With black pants. An obvious look for styling with this sort of shoe is with a pair of fitted, black pants. This way you can pull a slightly androgynous look, but still look feminine if you pair with a crisp white shirt and fun accessories.
3. Casually. This option gives you a little variety. By casually, I mean try pairing them with fitted boyfriend jeans, a pair of denim shorts, or a full length skirt. However, keep it classy.
Adding a feminine touch to your outfit when wearing brogues or loafers is definitely key. This way, you will add your own individuality to the trend whether it be through adding feminine accessories, a cute blazer, or chiffon shirt.
Thank you so much for your question, I hope this post helps!
