WOW! Is all I can say about Sass and Bides latest collection launch!
The popular Australian label chose an old car showroom in
Manhattan's Soho district as the incredible backdrop for their return to New
York Fashion Week.
Sass and Bide’s Spring/Summer collection was presented to a front
row packed with celebrities who were eager to see what the designers had in
store.
The incredibly talented Heidi Middleton and Sarah- Jane
Clarke are renowned for their use of embellishment, intense detailing and
colour. The women love to mix dresses with pants, and tailored jackets with
waisted bodices. This is what stands the brand a part from anything else- the
ability for each of their designs to be mixed with each one of their pieces!
This collection is inspired by Emily Bonte’s poem “Often
Rebuked” as Middleton claimed that it was “a new wisdom for the label… I wanted
to create an almost timeless feel”.
Navies, crisp whites and gold embellishments dominated the
runway, with a lot of feminine rose detailing. My favourites? The exceptional embroidery
and the fine gold detailing upon the crisp, white backdrop of the dresses.
The showing of their latest collection coincides with the
opening of their first store in New York in November.
Sass and Bide have and always will be loved by Australians
and fashion forward fashionistas around the globe. Take a look at their run way
show looks. If you’re anything like me you’ll be squealing at the sight of
them!
