Gucci Museo- Florence

Monday, 22 July 2013

Today I had the amazing opportunity of visiting the Gucci Museo in the centre of Florence. Guccio Gucci- better known as "Gucci" is an Italian fashion designer specialising mainly in leather goods, clothing, jewellery and fashion accessories. Operating through 278 stores worldwide, Gucci is the biggest selling Italian brand.

Florence; being the birthplace of Guccio Gucci is the wonderful city in which the Guccio Museo is located. The museum; situated right in the centre of the Piazza Vecchio has three levels filled with historic Gucci pieces, as well as current collections and ball gowns worn by the likes of Blake Lively and Cameron Diaz. Let me just say that it is absolutely incredible. The rest of the museum is filled with bags and items that are decades old. Each of these items provides a deep history into the background of the brand and of Guccio Gucci himself.

The Gucci Museo is situated right in the centre of Florence- the heart of the brand and of the man behind the label. In 1921, the label was created and it has now become a global phenomenon which has attracted all ages and cultural backgrounds. Gucci follows the principles of "Forever Now" - which entails re-creating the creativity of the past and using it as inspiration for future collections. Gucci also invests in long- lasting values.
